Assembling the final piece

To stay focused among multiple takes over hours of playing time: Examine your recordings and compose your final cut onto clean tracks or into a new project. Fulfill excessive cutting tasks inside bigger projects loosing no time organizing screen space along the timeline.

Source Destination Cut in use

Two display areas let you view and play back source and destination tracks simultaneously and independently of each other. Both areas can be navigated, zoomed and played independently. You can navigate to the source material while playback is running in the destination area in order to get the next cut set up. The actual editing takes place via markers, so you can apply 2, 3 or 4-point cuts. Shift and rearrange your edits keeping source material untouched and in position.

Collecting the best takes

Save time minimizing the search for audio material. Organize similar takes automatically in an overview project.

Multi-Synchronous Cut (MuSyC) for automated take management

MuSyC analyses your material and adds an overview project to the source destination cut by displaying takes with musical similarity. A multi-track recording take is represented by a single object making it possible to make sound change and cuts even with takes recorded at different tempos.  If a section of music has been recorded multiple times, the takes are arranged together and displayed in time.

Seamless transitions

Free yourself from limitations. For natural sounding transitions between different takes crossfades with asymmetrical curves are crucial. Use the advanced crossfade editor to create individual fade-in and -out curves for the most flexible fading combinations.

Advanced crossfade editor in use

The crossfade editor offers the option to make exact cut adjustments and to design object transitions. All fade characteristics can be changed (e.g. length, curve, position in the audio material), different fade variations can be managed via snapshots for quick comparisons, and different playback commands can be carried out in order to evaluate transitions thoroughly.

Editing on a new level

Speed up your workflow around large projects containing many different clips resulting in a reduced track count and improved performance using the dedicated object buffer.

Object-based editing in use

Apply processing independently to each object and in real time with the dedicated buffer: plug-in chains, AUX sends, pitch shifting and time stretching, EQ and automation. Seamlessly work with assets of any format without any conversion required.

Keep it clean. Apply spectral view on audio material to identify unwanted artefacts. From clicks to noises – Sequoia is prepared for all cleaning and restoration tasks with the included tools and bundled software.

Preparing productions for release

Preparing productions for release

Get your work ready for replication according to Red Book standard (incl. ISRC, ISBN, CD Text, EAN, and more), Sequoia supports professional file exchange between mastering studios and pressing plants – such as DDP. Save time by listening back to exported DDP masters without the need to re-import.

Listen, edit and export while recording

Listen, edit and export while recording

When working on productions that rely heavily on the rapid flow of information – listen to any part of the material from a live recording, cut and arrange objects in the project and export already available material. Delay playback of a live concert recording for streaming listeners and skip intermissions. Export raw material locally or to a database during the session to allow an editor to preview the current status and organize the content.

Steven Epstein Producer, Recording/Mixing/Mastering Engineer (15 Grammies & 2 Latin Grammies, Yo-Yo Ma, Chic Corea, James Taylor, Bobby McFerrin, Wynton Marsalis, Isaac Stern, Lorin Maazel)

"Several years ago when I became an independent producer/engineer having retired from Sony Masterworks, I needed to acquire a full featured DAW that was state of the art as regards neutrality and accuracy of sound as well as a program that enabled me to record, edit, mix, and master my productions in a user friendly and efficient way. I had heard that Sequioa fulfilled all of those requirements from top engineers. They were right! Over the years, I have made recordings (both as producer and engineer) for many labels which have been quite successful. I really do love this program!"
