How does SmartScription work exactly?
VEGAS Pro 365+ has a minimum running term of 24 months. After the initial one-time upfront payment, you will be able to access subscription benefits for these 24 months. At the end of the minimum term (24 months), you can decide whether to extend or unsubscribe. If you decide to unsubscribe, you are entitled to a perpetual license to the latest version of VEGAS Pro.
I currently own a perpetual version of VEGAS Pro, what happens if I buy a SmartScription?
If you choose SmartScription, you will of course keep access to the software you currently own. VEGAS Pro 365+ will be available to you immediately after receipt of payment and activation.
How do I switch from my current VEGAS Pro annual subscription to SmartScription?
We are currently working on a solution to make your transition to SmartScription as smooth as possible. While we don't have an exact timeframe for this update, we are committed to finding the perfect fit for everyone soon.
Will the process to get my perpetual license be automatic when/if I unsubscribe?
With SmartScription you are entitled to a perpetual license if you unsubscribe. Once/if you will unsubscribe you will have to contact us so that we can initiate the process to get you the perpetual version of your software.
When, exactly, am I eligible to download a perpetual version?
Once the SmartScription minimum term (24 months) is over you will be eligible to get the latest perpetual version of VEGAS Pro. Please be reminded that cancellation of SmartScription is only possible up to 1 month before the end of the SmartScription minimum term or up to 1 month before the end of any following extension period.
Can I unsubscribe at any moment of the SmartScription period?

Do I get to keep the subscription benefits forever?
No, once you unsubscribe you won’t have access to the subscription-exclusive benefits anymore.
How is SmartScription more cost-effective than other license types?
Even though SmartScription seems to be more expensive than purchasing a perpetual license straight away, its benefits and value sum up over time. You will in fact get all the latest upgrades (which you would have to purchase singularly otherwise) and subscription benefits for however long you decide to remain a subscriber.
What happens to my projects when/if I unsubscribe and switch to perpetual?
If they are stored locally, you can keep on editing them in your perpetual version of VEGAS Pro. If they are saved in your VEGAS Cloud storage, make sure to save a copy locally before you unsubscribe.
Will I get free updates and upgrades forever with SmartScription?
You will keep getting free updates and upgrades as long as you remain a subscriber. Once you unsubscribe and switch to perpetual you will need to make additional purchases for each update.
